Kudos

Congratulations Tom Bell Chevrolet for another outstanding review!

“I was told that it was very busy and that I would have to leave my car there for a couple hours. All I wanted was a routine oil change. I told the man that there was absolutely no way I could wait four hours because I had other things to do and it involved traveling, plus I had no one to take me to and from the dealership when it was finished. I told him that it wasn't a problem for me to come back another day. He insisted that I stay and that my vehicle be serviced. He spoke with someone and then told me they could squeeze me in and it would take about an hour. I was fine with that and 1hr 15min later I had my car back. Great customer service, very nice man, and everyone at Tom Bell Chevrolet is very nice/respectful. I regret not remembering the employee's name who helped me. You all are AWESOME!” – Mary B.

From 1967 to Now, Camaro Z/28

Originally introduced in 1967, Camaro Z/28 was designed specifically to compete in the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am 2 class. Lightweight, nimble and incredibly powerful, the original Z/28 was ideally designed for road racing. The 2014 Z/28 carries the same spirit, with every detail engineered specifically to create the ultimate track-capable Camaro.

POWERTRAIN

A hand-assembled LS7 engine, the most-powerful normally aspirated regular production small block V8 ever, is the force that propels Camaro Z/28. Highest-quality parts and precision assembly elevates the redline level to 7000 rpm.

Durable, lightweight components such as titanium intake valves and connecting rods coupled with a forged-steel crankshaft make the LS7 engine incredibly robust. The standard 10.5-quart, dry-sump oiling system distributes pressurized oil from an external reservoir to protect vital components under high-g driving conditions.

The LS7 is mated to a TREMEC TR6060 six-speed manual gearbox that features close-ratio gearing - optimized for the engine’s power characteristics. The TREMEC is coupled with a 5.1:1-ratio short-throw shifter to ensure quick and precise feeling shifts.

Power is distributed to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential, which features a helical gear set rather than traditional clutch packs. This continuously adjusts torque bias allowing drivers to confidently lay down more power to get through corners faster. Coupled with the Performance Traction Management (PTM) system, drivers can adjust the level of throttle and brake intervention to match their capability and driving environment, essentially making PTM custom to each driving situation.

Z/28 features a cooling system designed for the track — standard. This incorporates the dry-sump oiling system for the LS7, which connects to an integral liquid-to-liquid cooling system for engine oil. Another liquid-to-liquid system provides cooling for the transmission and differential.

BODY

2014 Camaro Z/28 pays homage to the exterior of the original legend while capitalizing on 21st century design elements and technology. Z/28 was born to be a functional instrument for the track, utilizing best practices and influences learned through racing.

Camaro Z/28 has aerodynamic treatments designed to produce downforce — specifically at track speeds. A large splitter connects to an underbody panel to further reduce lift. Fender flares over the front and rear wheels and extended rocker panels contribute to aerodynamic stability. Z/28 also features an aggressive rear spoiler and functional diffuser to complete the fully integrated aerodynamic package.

CHASSIS

The tires on Camaro Z/28 are robust and massive Pirelli PZero® Trofeo R 305/30ZR19 summer-only tires — ideal for lateral motions, like corner entry and exit.

Camaro Z/28 features lightweight Brembo Carbon Ceramic Matrix™ rotors and fixed, monoblock calipers. The huge 394x36 mm front rotors are paired with 6-piston calipers, while the 390x32 mm rear rotors are paired with four-piston calipers. Compared to similar-size, 2-piece steel rotors, the lightweight and large carbon calipers save 22 pounds, while encouraging impressive stopping power and heat toleration — ideal for track usage.

Camaro Z/28 is one of the first production cars featuring race-proven, spool-valve dampers. The spool-valve damper allows 4-way adjustment to precisely tune both bump and rebound settings for high-speed and low-speed wheel motions. The wider tuning range dramatically increases the damper stiffness on Camaro Z/28 without significantly impacting ride quality.

INTERIOR

The all-new driver and front passenger racing seats are designed by RECARO. Aggressive bolsters ensure both passenger and driver remain firmly planted, even in high-energy driving situations. A flat-bottom steering wheel opens leg room for ingress and egress, as well as quicker heel/toe shifting. Performance pedals and a short-throw shifter allow for rapid, confident shifting.

PREPARE FOR DEPARTURE

Chevrolet surprised the world and introduced this ground-shaking vision of American performance, available Fall 2014.

Transmission Fluid

If you get a whiff of burning transmission fluid, be advised it is definitely not the sweet smell of success. That's because it may indicate your transmission is overheating. Transmission fluid not only keeps the transmission's many moving parts properly lubricated, but it prevents the unit from burning itself up, by providing much-needed cooling.
In some vehicles, the transmission even has its own mini-radiator (an oil cooler) that circulates fluid to transport heat away from the transmission unit itself.
Common causes include low or inadequate transmission fluid, which can in turn indicate a leak or dirty fluid that needs changing.
If you thought your transmission was safe from wear at least while it was in neutral, the truth might surprise you. Look to the next page for the scoop on noises in neutral.

Congratulations Tom Bell team for another rave review!

“I went to Tom Bell because of how my Club, Corvette's West, was treated by another Chevy dealer in the area. Tom Bell has been extremely supportive of Corvette's West. I had my oil changed and I was amazed at the positive experience. My Corvette was ready in short order, and they washed my car as a courtesy. I spoke with several Tom Bell employees as I waited for my Corvette to be serviced. All Tom Bell employees that I encountered were friendly and helpful. They stated that Tom Bell treats his employees very well. In this day and age where the customer seems to be an after thought by vendors, I found my experience at Tom Bell to be very pleasant.” - Fred R.

Stunning Reinterpretation

A stunning reinterpretation
Vision is the cornerstone of good design and at the core of fearless innovation. The all-new 2014 Impala is proof of that, combining superior materials with meticulously crafted technology. Its bold stance and sculpted lines combine form with function to please the eye and effectively command aerodynamics for a smooth, dynamic ride. The interior is transformed into an environment of sophistication and authenticity featuring premium materials thoroughly crafted with masterful technique resulting in superior finish in every detail. Engineered for excellence. Designed for drivers. The 2014 Chevrolet Impala is a stunning reinterpretation of the premium sedan.

Assertive, athletic design

From its bold, confident stance to its sweeping roofline, the all-new 2014 Impala is artistically sculpted for lasting impressions. It’s a striking departure from the status quo. The powerdome hood, wide chrome grille, projector-beam headlamps and available LED daytime running lamps project the bold new face of Chevrolet. The provocative silhouette, sculpted bodysides and a choice of 18-, 19- or 20-inch wheels contribute further to its dramatic appearance and head-turning profile.

Style with intention

The all-new 2014 Impala has the graceful lines worthy of its iconic nameplate. The exterior is characterized by smooth, flowing contours that are not only visually stunning but also impressively aerodynamic. Honed in the wind tunnel, the artistically aerodynamic shape contributes to a wonderfully quiet ride and greater fuel efficiency with an estimated 31 MPG highway with the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine or an EPA-estimated 29 MPG highway with the available 3.6L V6 engine featuring Direction Injection and Variable Valve Timing.

In just 6.8 seconds

At the heart of Impala lies the acclaimed 3.6L V6 engine boasting 305 horsepower and 0-60 mph in just 6.8 seconds. Direct Injection injects fuel closer to the combustion chamber for an efficient, powerful “burn.” At partial or full throttle, you’ll feel the powerful response. Variable Valve Timing consistently boosts power by providing near-peak torque over a wider rpm range. The available engine’s refined power and finely tuned precision contribute to the confident and strong ride Impala is known for, while preserving impressive efficiencies such as an EPA-estimated 29 MPG highway.

Agile ride and handling

The stiff body structure and grounded stance allowed engineers to tune ride and handling precisely for an impressive “connected to the road” experience. The premium electric rack-and-pinion steering system delivers crisp, responsive handling and excellent on-center feel. A tight steering radius combined with an available variable-effort feature, which increases the level of power assistance during low-speed maneuvers, offers the driver impressive command over city streets and sharp turns. In the end it creates a smooth, effortless ride.

Connected to the road

The grounded stance exudes an air of confidence, while its refined exterior design and profile leave a lasting impression whether in motion or standing still. But this longer wheelbase and sculpted, stiff body structure are at the center of a more commanding driving experience. The 2014 Impala is for the assured driver ready to enjoy each turn, every hill and whatever the road may bring.

Sophisticated

The Impala interior has been transformed into a carefully crafted, exquisitely detailed environment with the driver’s comfort and peace of mind its focus. A dramatic and innovative reinterpretation of the classic Chevrolet “dual-cockpit” instrument panel flows seamlessly around the driver, while visual accents such as available soft ice-blue ambient lighting ignite the senses. And with thoughtful design along with ingenuity, the 2014 Impala is spacious and comfortable, offering ample room for five passengers. New options for further driving comfort include heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel with a power tilt/telescoping feature and 4-way adjustable front head restraints that allow the driver and front passenger to position them for a more comfortable fit.

Authentic

Each and every detail of the Impala interior was thoughtfully selected and expertly crafted to come together in an exceptional driving environment tailored to its driver. Beautiful available burnished woodgrain trim perfectly complements chrome accents throughout, while exquisite French stitching accentuates the premium textures of soft-touch and available premium sueded microfiber or leather-appointed surfaces. Available ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel round out the environment for greater overall comfort for both the driver and passengers. It’s more than an interior – it’s the pinnacle of taste and intrigue.

Innovative

Interior designers thoughtfully considered every inch and every aspect of the all-new driver-centric Impala, keeping drivers’ needs at the forefront of their minds. Innovative storage options can be found intuitively throughout Impala that thoughtfully preserve spaciousness. There’s smart storage in the door panels and armrest, as well as umbrella storage in the front doors, and integrated cup holders and phone storage in the console. Items can be kept in reach but out of sight with hidden storage space behind the available color touch-screen radio or stowed away within hidden under-floor storage in the trunk. Then there’s the available Driver Memory Package, another thoughtful convenience that gives you two preset positions for the 8-way power driver seat, power-adjustable steering wheel and exterior mirrors. Recall your saved settings with the touch of a button. It even makes exiting easier by pulling the available power seat and steering column back and out of the way.

Be Entertained

Customize your driving experience by arranging the icons and features on your available 8-inch color touch-screen along with the Driver Information Center to showcase the information or options you want most. Impala features the largest color touch-screen yet on a Chevrolet vehicle along with hidden storage behind the screen with a USB port to store your phone or items. In Valet Mode, it even locks to help keep valuable items safe and securely out of reach. Once your screen and Driver Information Center are customized to your preferences, you’re ready to bring your favorite music and entertainment with you.  The new available Chevrolet MyLink works with your compatible smartphone and Bluetooth® wireless technology to stream music and entertainment through the Pandora® Internet Radio mobile app. Or you can listen to commercial-free programs through the 3-month trial of SiriusXM Satellite Radio. The latest Chevrolet MyLink even allows you to store up to 60 favorites, including radio stations, contacts, destinations, music and other media.

The latest available Chevrolet MyLink system offers natural-language voice recognition that allows you to place calls, enter destinations, browse media and play music with simple natural speech. Or you can accomplish various tasks using gestures, such as a swipe across the screen, similar to systems commonly used on mobile devices.

Keyless Access

There’s no need to hunt for your key fob in your purse or pocket — with this available feature, simply press the sensor on the door handle and the door will unlock. And then as long as the key fob is inside the car, you can start the engine with the push of a button.

Full-color touch-screen

The 8-inch diagonal color touch-screen has a power up/down feature that reveals a hidden behind-screen storage compartment with a USB port, so you can charge and store your phone while driving. You can even customize the look of the on-screen graphics with one of four available themes.

Rear vision camera

The available rear vision camera on Impala displays a rear view on the touch-screen located conveniently in the center stack for easy view. This feature helps you see stationary objects behind your Impala when traveling in reverse at low speeds. The cross-traffic alert option also alerts you to oncoming cross traffic while backing up.

With two ports in the console and another tucked away in the hidden storage compartment behind the color touch-screen, you can charge multiple devices while on the road.

Preventive measures

Safety was a top priority when designing the all-new 2014 Impala. So Impala features some of the most innovative and ingenious advances in safety technology from standard StabiliTrak® to available Collision Mitigation Braking.
The Advanced Safety Package, available on LT and standard on LTZ, features additional available technologies and the optional Forward Collision Alert, which scans for vehicles ahead and alerts the driver to potential crash risks. Also available on LTZ, opt for additional safety features including Full-Speed-Range Adaptive Cruise Control and enhanced Forward Collision Alert with Collision Mitigation Braking, which utilizes radar in the front grille to sense traffic ahead. Adaptive Cruise Control adjusts or maintains vehicle speed accordingly when set to “maintain follow distance.” The enhanced Forward Collision Alert with Collision Mitigation Braking can automatically apply the brakes to help avoid a front end collision or reduce impact speed.

New assistance technologies

Impala is ingenuity put to work for the safety of you and your passengers, featuring newly available safety technologies that help give the driver not only "eyes in the back of their head" to aid in rear vision, but also help alert the driver to their sides and blind spots as well. Using radar sensors, Forward Collision Alert identifies vehicles ahead and alerts the driver to any potential crash risk while Rear Cross-Traffic Alert alerts the driver to crossing traffic from behind while the vehicle is in reverse. Similar radar sensors keep an eye on blind spots to the side of the vehicle with the Side Blind Zone Alert, which illuminates small LED-lit symbols in the corresponding outside mirror when another vehicle is detected. Impala even keeps an eye on your driving with the available Lane Departure Warning. It gives you an audible alert while driving if you unintentionally drift out of your lane without using a turn signal.

Protection and response

In the event of a collision, the vehicle’s innovative safety features go to work helping to protect with 10 standard air bags. Structural integrity of the vehicle is important during a collision and Impala provides a strong, stiff body using ultra-high-strength steel. There’s also the safety and support of OnStar®, standard for six months, with Automatic Crash Response. In many crashes, built-in sensors can automatically alert an OnStar Advisor, who is immediately connected to your Impala to see if you need help. Even if you don’t respond, an OnStar Advisor can use GPS technology to pinpoint your exact location and request that emergency help be sent right away.
